Microsoft has announced a price increase for their Office Server products and corresponding Client Access Licenses (and suites) starting July 2025.
Exchange Server Subscription Edition
The price increase is aligned with the introduction of Exchange Server Subscription Edition. If you want to learn more about the licensing of Microsoft Exchange Server SE, our sister company Didactive has published a Knowledge Base article (free of charge after registration).
Microsoft Exchange Server Standard SE and Exchange Server Enterprise SE will receive a 10% price increase. Same price increase applies to the Client Access Licenses (both Standard and Enterprise).
Skype for Business Server Subscription Edition
Similar to Exchange Server SE Microsoft also introduce Skype for Business Server SE. All Skype for Business Server products (including all CALs) will receive a 10% price increase.
SharePoint Server
SharePoint Server has been available as a Subscription Edition since 2019. There will be no updates to the product, nor the licensing. However, SharePoint Server and CALs are also subject to the 10% price increase.
Core and Enterprise CAL Suite
Microsoft offers suites of various Client Access Licenses and they include CALs for the Office Server products mentioned above. With that, they are subject to price increases as well. The Core CAL Suite will receive a 15% price increase and the Enterprise CAL Suite tops it off with 20%.
Please find the official announcement here and many thanks to Mr Rich G. for spotting the article first.
There is no price increase (yet) announced for other on-premises server products, like Windows Server, SQL Server, BizTalk Server and others.
