According to Microsoft, IT decision makers are being asked to ensure their businesses are (digitally) secure and their end users are productive. We can only imagine that in these pandemic days this is not an easy task because people are working everywhere, remote. To support that need Microsoft invested in Microsoft 365 and has launched many new features in the past months. Here is a non-exhaustive overview:
- Microsoft Tunnel (what’s in a name…) for Virtual Private Networks (VPN) capabilities
- Broadend endpoint management through Microsoft Intune
- Expanded MacOS management (secure app delivery)
- Endpoint Analytics
- Unified Endpoint Security Management (deep integration between Endpoint Manager and Defender for Endpoint)
Given the enhancements Microsoft made, they have the intent to increase the prices for some of the stand alone products in the Microsoft 365 E3 plan; EM+S E3 will go up from US$ 9 to US$ 11 per user per month (increase of over 20%!) per July 1st 2021. The Microsoft Intune per user per month subscription price will go up from US$ 6 to US$ 8. The price of the entire suite of products – Microsoft 365 E3, has no planed price increase (yet).
