Microsoft Defender Suite for Business Premium
Microsoft Defender is a comprehensive solution ‘to defend’ organization against cyber threats (identity, devices, email and cloud threats). The new Defender Suite for Business Premium adds the following solutions (which are also available as stand-alone products):
- Microsoft Entra ID Plan 2
- Microsoft Defender for Identity
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Plan 2
- Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Plan 2 (tenant wide solution!)
- Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps
Organizations who have licensed (all) users with Microsoft 365 Business Premium may license these users with Microsoft Suite for Business Premium. It means that Microsoft Business Premium is a licensing prerequisite. User Subscription Licenses cost US$ 10 per user per month with a 12-month subscription. The minimum number of licenses to be purchased per organization is 25, the maximum is 300.
Tenant wide licensing
Please be aware that Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Plan 2 offers tenant wide protection for all users, which means that all users must be licensed for Defender for Office 365 Plan 2 or a suite which contains Defender for Office 365 Plan 2.
Can’t mix
When you mix (example) 200 Microsoft Business Premium (with Defender for Business) with 100 Defender Suite for Business Premium (with Defender for Endpoint Plan 2), all users will receive Defender for Business. Only when you license all users with Defender for Endpoint Plan 2 (or a Suite which contains that), all users will receive Defender for Endpoint Plan 2 (it is a technical limitation on the tenant level).
Microsoft Purview Suite for Business Premium
Besides large organizations, SMBs also have to comply with legal, branch or organizational requirements. Microsoft Purview is a brand of compliance solutions and focuses on protecting organizational data. Microsoft Purview Suite for Business Premium is a suite of Purview solutions focused on helping SMBs with their regulatory compliance and contains:
- Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management
- Microsoft Purview eDiscovery and Audit
- Microsoft Purview Information Protection and Governance
All off this against a price of US$ 10 per user per month with a 12-month subscription. Licensing principles are the same as mentioned in the paragraph Defender Suite for Business Premium.
