The Microsoft Product Terms are part of any volume licensing agreement a customer signs with Microsoft. In the September edition of these Product Terms, Microsoft has added a new article to the ‘Universal License Terms’:

To the extent Microsoft is a processor or subprocessor of personal data in connection with a Product or the provision of Professional Services, Microsoft makes the commitments in the European Union General Data Protection Regulation Terms in Attachment 4 of the Online Services Terms to all customers effective May 25, 2018.

Online subscriptions
All Microsoft cloud subscriptions, like Office 365, Azure, Windows, Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, Enterprise Mobility and Security (EMS), are subject to the Online Services Terms (OST). In the September 2017 edition of the OST Microsoft has added ‘Attachment 4’ where it describes how the Microsoft online services will comply with the new European Union General Data Protection Regulation.

Both the Product Terms and the Online Services Terms can be downloaded from the Microsoft website. Might you have any questions regarding the content, the new terms or how they will affect the software and services for your organization, please do contact one of our licensing experts to help you.
